Junior’s Bus Tour Forces Edgar To Announce He Is Running In 2014

I am not fooling. He announced that already, on CKLW, on his love-fest on Tuesday morning. That is the way that Edgar believes that he can control his Councillors and keep them in line so that they will not dare go against his wishes by saying that he is not going to go. Knuckle under or face his wrath for the next 6 years is the threat. No wonder a couple of Councillors were seen turning white today. There go their dreams of being Mayor!

You did not have to go on the bus tour with Ken Lewenza Junior to listen to what was said. All you need to do going check my colleague’s posting where he took a video of the entire trip. Go listen to it for yourself.

Again, the Windsor Square presents to the people of Windsor the opportunity to watch and hear for themselves and to draw their own conclusions without any filtering by the media or even from our own website. You decide for yourself.

Apparently, while the tour was taking place, Edgar (aka Eddie) told us on CKLW that he was at home playing with his children “the wheels on the bus.” Taking such a cavalier attitude to serious allegations like those made by Junior could mean that the wheels might fall off of Edgar’s bus more quickly than he can imagine!

Marra responds to Lewenza’s complaints about WUC

Several concerns that included fears the Windsor Utilities Commission may be privatized similar to Enwin Utilities expressed Monday by former councillor Ken Lewenza Jr. are unfounded, said Coun. Bill Marra, current WUC chairman.

“I’m not clear what his intent is,” said Marra on Tuesday. “I have spoken to Ken on a number of occasions as it relates to WUC. He has some concerns around future challenges related to our capital budget and is afraid we are going to be corporatized.

“That’s not even on our radar screen, there is no intent to do that.”

Lewenza guided three dozen passengers by bus Monday on his “Eddie Francis Truth Tour,” which raised concerns regarding the operations and boards of WUC and Enwin. He called for the firing of Enwin CEO Max Zalev, who he accused of advancing and protecting the mayor’s political agenda.

Lewenza also accused Francis of turning WUC into a “sinking pig,” ignoring the water system’s infrastructure needs in order to keep rates down or divert funds through “management or service fees” to beef up the bottom lines of both Enwin and the city.

Open letter to Mayor Edgar Francis

I rode the bus with Mr. Lewenza to various sites around the city. I want you to know how disgusted I was to see the flagrant waste and disregard for the hard-earned tax dollars dutifully paid in good faith by the hard-working people of this city. Any confidence I have had in you as Mayor was destroyed with your firing of Mr Langlois and your subsequent and obvious damage control efforts. The tour served to make it crystal clear to me that your stated “careful stewardship” is woefully non-apparent. In fact, living here for the last 50 years gives me cause to feel this point in the city’s history is an all time low. I laugh as I read, ” You welcome audits”, knowing full well you and your cohorts have had ample opportunity to destroy evidence for weeks now and I have come to recognize you lack the integrity for me to rule these speculations out as real possibilities.

I would like to know the rationale behind the decision to have us removed by security from the Enwin property at 4545 Rhodes drive.
It seems quite strange to me that a group of concerned citizens looking for transparency would be treated this way. Such a small gesture,and what a big message.

I add my voice to the call for a Citizens Panel to be established to look into all aspects of city operations, for the purpose of transparency and to make cost cutting recommendations that conflicts of interest prevent, by current executives employed by the City ,Enwin and WUC. There have been numerous claims about the toxic environment at city hall and Enwin and they can no longer be ignored by the tax-payers.

My Impressions of the Truth Tour

As a human being fed up with maintaining executive salaries and benefit packages, while our family, friends and neighbours spiral downward. all unsure how far down we will go, I wonder. How many $ 100,000. plus salaries for city and Enwin management can the tired backs of the people of this city bear. Mr Lewenza’s tour shed some light on the absolute disregard for the people of this city in the waste of tax dollars, unnecessary and wasteful projects to benefit relatives and cronies, the arrogance of the mayor, council, and Enwin exec Max Zalev. I dare say this is only the tip of the ice berg.

The lack of transparency emphasized by the firing of the Auditor General Todd Langlois makes this abundantly clear.

I feel less than hopeful that Mr Lewenza’s motives are completely pure. I felt a flavour throughout the tour that he was keeping his options open for a future mayoral run. The unwavering support and protection for all other Enwin executives was less than heartwarming. His support for the removal of flouride in the water seemed gratuitous in light of full support of the smart meter program.

In conclusion, it wasn’t a complete waste of time, I do feel our actions to withhold municipal tax payments justified and necessary and I thank Mr. Lewenza for bringing us this clarity of purpose.

I urge citizens to bring clarity of purpose to filing their tax payments, in the realization, this is our only real power. This action doesn’t simply ask for change it demands it.

Something Strange Is Going On Here

I just don’t get it. Is it a fool moon tonight? An early April Fool’s Day joke being played on us by the traditional media?

Of course you have seen this website and joined their Facebook page:

These poor souls have obviously been influenced by the nattering nabobs of negativity. Instead of accepting the City Hall gospel, these people have decided to think for themselves. That really is quite shameful in this City.

More than that, they happen to believe that posting on social media like Facebook and Twitter might help in the distribution of their ideas. What do they think this is: Enwin Awakening, Occupy Enwin/WUC.

The next thing that you will know is that they will call for a huge protest at the next City Council meeting so that everyone on Cogeco can see it for themselves. I got it, there will be a giant flash mob to the song “We built this city” right after the declaration of pecuniary interest. Quite ironic don’t you think.

All Aboard For The “Eddie Francis Truth Tour”

A bus carrying about 35 people on an “Eddie Francis Truth Tour” has stopped outside the Enwin offices on Rhodes Drive, where former city councillor Ken Lewenza Jr. is blasting the utility for making multi-million dollar decisions behind closed doors.

Lewenza, who also served in the past as chairman of the Windsor Utilities Commision, called for the firing of Max Zalev, the CEO of Enwin and the chair of the city’s audit committee. He added the utility was being used to advance the interests of Windsor Mayor Eddie Francis and talked about the mismanagement of millions of dollars related to a computer system.

Enwin Gives Ratepayers The Boot

You gotta hand it to Enwin’s brain-trust.

EnWin certainly has an interesting way of demonstrating it’s openness and transparency when residents were given a taste of the road blocks and interference the city’s former auditor general has alleged he faced.

Todd Langlois was terminated after just 10 months on the job on the recommendation of the audit committee which is chaired by Enwin’s CEO and President, Max Zalev. Then when Mayor Francis stated last week during a city hall press conference Enwin’s ”books are open” email requests to receive copies of annual audits have gone unanswered by Enwin management.
